A bit of history

In the 1970s, a local man from Granada with plenty of travelling experience called José Bocanegra, came back from Mexico to his beloved Granada and, after a long journey, dared to build a hotel where old Nazarene allotments used to be in Los Alixares. It was a piece of land that, back then, had little value, where there was no electricity nor drinking water, with José himself having to channel it and bring it there. In a tribute to the Mexican patron saint, the country who took him in, and in deference to his beloved Mexican wife, he named this small family hotel Guadalupe. With time, the hotel became a reference among traditional hospitality in Granada.
