This is how it all started

Back in the 1960s, a local globetrotter by the name of Don José Bocanegra returned to his beloved Granada after a long journey to Mexico and had the vision and the audacity to open a hotel on a site that used to be the Nasrid vegetable gardens of Los Alixares. This plot of land barely had any value due to the lack of electricity or drinking water, which Bocanegra himself took care of channelling here.

As a tribute to the patron virgin of Mexico, the country that adopted him, and to his Mexican wife, he named this small family hotel “Guadalupe” which, over time, has become a reference of traditional local hospitality.
